100 Years of Stainless Steel
In 2013 Stainless Steel celebrated its 100 year since its discovery in Sheffield by Harry Brierley. During that year there was many special events and reports to commemorate one of the most important metals used in our everyday life.
BS Stainless were asked to help by supplying stainless steel to artist Lucy Coyne for the steel city cascade, using both strip and wire to create twelve portraits and also included some blue painted stainless strip.
One development that is still relevant today created as part of the celebrations was a video called “100 years of stainless” it explains about the discovery of stainless steel, its history and development through the ages up to what we have now. We think it’s a particularly interesting incite and a good way to find out more about this metal, you can view it on the link below.
