BS Stainless Ltd Introduce David Leeming
David Leeming joined BS Stainless Ltd in October 2011 and is involved in improving and developing the steel processing as well as safety and quality assurance systems.
After leaving school in 1975 he served an engineering apprenticeship with the Royal Ordnance Factory Blackburn and worked mainly in the Methods department developing machinery and tooling systems.
In 1984 David had a career change and Joined LFRS and after successfully completing an arduous recruit course worked at several fire stations throughout Lancashire.
He served in various roles and ranks before becoming a Technical Fire Safety Officer and later Manager at a busy technical fire safety office. He recently retired and spent some time building an extension to his house after completing a part time building and brickwork course at Blackburn College.
A married father of three, a daughter and two sons, David enjoys spending time with his family, dining out and socialising with friends.
Sport has always featured in David’s life he competed for Blackburn schools at 100 meters, played amateur rugby league for East Lancashire and then went on to play football, with more enthusiasm than skill, for various local teams, the Royal Ordnance Factory and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.
He is a keen walker; David has raised money for local charities with sponsored events including the Three Peaks in both directions. He has also always practiced various martial arts and is presently a second dan black belt in Kung Fu and still going
David feels that a natural enthusiasm and ‘can do’ attitude developed with the Fire Service will transfer easily into his new industry and help him in his mission of continuous improvements for BS Stainless.
