Gastech Singapore — A Strategic Location
The decision to host Gastech 2015 in Singapore is a direct reflection of the increasing strategic importance of the country as a ‘regional hub’ for the gas market in Asia. As this market expands, we will be there to offer state-of-the-art technology and materials of exceptional quality to ensure that the world’s ever-growing power needs are safely, efficiently and sustainably met.
Gastech is the largest and arguably most prestigious event of its type, attracting tens of thousands of delegates from all sectors of the LNG and oil industries. The conference and exhibition focuses on such a large number of diverse topics that a special newspaper is produced on each day of the four-day event to keep everyone up-to-date.
dmg :: events (UK) Ltd organise Gastech and the company’s Executive Vice President, Matthew Meredith, said: “We are proud to be bringing Gastech 2015 to Singapore in October.. after a successful partnership in London in 2012, we are pleased to be working once again on what is already shaping up to be our biggest Gastech so far – 75% of the exhibit space has already been reserved.”
Singapore is currently celebrating its 50-year anniversary and, at this pivotal time and in an atmosphere of vibrant hope for the future, is making moves to expand its role in the crucial gas industry in Asia. The country is supplied exclusively by BG Group with up to 3m tonnes of LNG each year and Anthony Barker, the company’s General Manager for Marketing, said: “The long-term importance of Asia’s gas markets was one of the reasons why BG Group recently moved the centre of our global LNG and oil marketing business to Singapore, so it is particularly fitting that one of the most important LNG conferences in the world should take place here”.
Speaking of the Gastech event, which takes place every 18 months, he added: “We look forward to welcoming all of the industry’s key players to Gastech in October 2015 and participating in some interesting discussions and debates on the future of the global and regional LNG market.”
Gastech 2015 is broadly divided into three streams - Commercial, Gas & LNG Technology and Marine & Shipping. Our versatile products can be used for many applications in all of these streams though, as stainless steel is especially resistant to corrosion, the Marine & Shipping stream will be of particular interest.
