LNG 2019: Delegates Prepare to Attend

Representatives from BS Stainless will be flying out to China at the beginning of April to attend the LNG 2019, the world's biggest LNG event. Though we will not be exhibiting at the event, our attendance is crucial in order to meet and network with potential clients and other related companies working in this diverse field.

LNG 2019 is the 19th International Conference & Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas. The event is billed as the 'only LNG event conducted by the industry for the industry' and is presented by the International Gas Union, the Gas Technology Institute and the International Institute of Refrigeration.

The first LNG event was held in 1968, since when it has grown to become the most significant such event in the world, with the key aim of "conducting a strategic, technical and commercial event for the LNG industry". The conference and exhibition now takes place every three years, with the location alternating between importing and exporting countries.

This years event takes place in Shanghai at  the World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center (SWEECC). Industry leaders including Gazprom,  Chevron Corporation, Samsung, Exxon Mobil , KOGAS, China petrochemical corporation (SINOPEC), Qatar Petroleum will present at the event.

LNG 2018 by Numbers

• More than 240 speakers will deliver presentations on a comprehensive range of LNG-related topics
• Over 11,000 delegates are expected to attend
• There will be at least 250 exhibitors showcasing their products at the event
• The exhibition will cover a massive 40,000 square metres of space
• Delegates will travel to the event from more than 80 countries around the world

LNG plants are now often built in modular fashion, which allows much of the work to take place away from the final site. Though extremely large and heavy, such modular parts can easily be transported by sea and so China, with its lower-cost labour and superlative shipbuilding infrastructure, is ideally placed for this type of construction. Many products used in the fabrication of LNG plant parts can be supplied by BS Stainless, including CoolMet , DryMet, SoundMet, cladding, banding and ancillaries.
