DryMet® Insulation Jacketing is a moisture barrier jacketing with a factory applied heat laminated polyfilm on the underside of the jacketing.

The polyfilm forms a moisture barrier to isolate the layers of insulation from the underlying metal, hence avoiding metal to metal contact to prevent galvanic corrosion. The polyfilm is a 3 layer coextruded film system which uses DuPont™ Surlyn® and polyethylene in three layers ensure the pinholes never align with each other resulting in elimination of pin-holes imparting excellent moisture barrier properties to the film. Drymet can be applied to stainless steel, aluminium, aluminized steel type 1 or type 2, Aluzinc, aluzinc ZX Petrochem​ and  Galvanized steel.

Drymet is also available with a range of options for the exterior surface of the jacketing:

Polyester paint or other paint systems based on the specification

• CoolMet – PVDF painted cladding to improve radiative properties and high abrasion resistance of top surface
• DuPont™Tedlar® (PVF) film – To improve external surface radiative properties and high abrasion resistance also used with the name Ultrolon.

DryMet jacketing is widely used for aluminum jacketing as a poly film moisture barrier, these can be secured with Bandfix banding and seals and supplied along with our range of insulation accessories.

Our metal jacketing meet the  latest ASTM standards for aluminium jacketing ASTM C1729 and for stainless steel jacketing ASTM C1767.

Both Stainless Steel and aluminium can be supplied stucco embossed with DryMet bonded to the reverse. 

Moisture barriers on metal jacketing have many referances PolyKraft is an old type of mositure barrier combining Kraft paper and Surlyn® often a similar use of the words Poly and Surlyn® are combined. This generic term is a breach of trademark. Due to the potential for PolyKraft to get wet even before application we feel that Drymet using Surlyn® with Poly is far superior.
